So I’m back with the third installment in the AKNB Artist Watch series, a title that belongs to Memphis-based artist Skewby. Now here’s a dude I expect to see crushing the game in approximately 1-3 years. When we spoke, homie was out in LA doing shows (jealous) and making moves. After dropping one cold mixtape (link below), Skewby’s been in the works on some career making collabs, and I feel it’s time to get him on the map.

PREVIOUS: Skewby – Proving You Wrong Since 1988 (Mixtape)
Proving You Wrong Since 1988 was inspired by the year considered by many to be the peak of hip hop, …also the year that Skewby was born. How fitting for an artist to start his career by paying tribute to what inspired him to record music in the first place.
Yeah, I dig a good mixtape. The verses on each track are heartfelt. The messages are strong. The production is really nostalgic, a figment of the 90′s; Naughty By Nature, Reasonable Doubt type vibe. While other blogs beat me to the punch on this project, I’m not worried; this is one project that should be bumped even five years down the road. In other words, It’s AKNB Approved.
